Why oh why??

Maybe its luck or something, when you become friends with someone, you are basically taking a risk and trusting that they would be a good friend to you. No matter what happens, you should be able to talk to them about anything. That is what friends are for. But when you can’t do this to your friend, I think it is then that a friend has failed you. Or vice versa, you have failed a friend.

People judge, and so will friends. But when your friend judges, somehow it feels less painful because you know its coming from a caring source.

But have you ever had friends who are too judgmental that you’re afraid to say things to him/her? Thinking for 30mins before you reply a sms and feeling shit because you’re afraid of turning them down for dinner. Are these normal reactions or feelings?

Next time, if people ask you to meet for coffee or dinner, turn them down flat out if you don’t really like them. That way, they won’t fail you and you won’t fail them as friends…..

Peace out.

ps: I really should be writing and reading my lit review.

Don’t talk money….

Don’t talk money at the dinner table…

If you do, don’t apologise or try explaining it.

Also…..I made a very different observation at my lab.

Why would anyone bring a balenciaga bag to a lab which gets broken into quite regularly?????

Hypocrisy of it all

I was just reminded today of people who would attack you and spit on you and take out their anger on you and when you don’t retaliate they cry or attempt at crying and claim themselves as pitiful souls.

Should I be angry with these people or should I hug them and forgive them like what Amma says? I think a post back, I wrote a piece of personal advice on how people should react to people who anger them. Instead of shouting and being angry yourself, you should be as calm and humble about it.

Its easier said then done.

I am still sitting here thinking about what I should do about the situation at hand.

And I choose to forgive, let it go. Before I do that, obviously I scream, I cry and I shout not at the very people who seemed to have presented me with this confusing situation at hand but at the four walls, onto my pillow. And I have let it go………

Some people are born unlucky but they become lucky through events in life.

Where else, some people are born lucky and become unlucky through events in life.

And then there are those who can’t be classified.

I guess in my case, I am unluckily lucky which has brought about loads of drama in my life. Lots of things in life people have no control over. Like death. But cheating and stealing, you do. You have control over these things. You choose to cheat or You choose to steal. You have a bloody choice. Everyone knows what happens when someone cheats or steals. Everybody has a closet filled with things. Not just you…

I FORGIVE YOU!

peace.

Quick Update

The thought of the day : People search for love right, could love search you?

If you believe in the latter, then my question is HOW and WHEN?

Is it cowardice to say let love search me?

Or am I being Lazy?

ps: This entry is just a series of questions and that is all there is to it. Nothing more nor less. Just Questions.

Have a lovely weekend.

What do you do when someone irritates you…

This post is for those who are quick tempered.

When someone sends you an irritating email/sms/e-card and write you a load of rubbish (i.e. Things you don’t wish you hear.), sit down, take a deep breath and think.

Spend 30 seconds screaming at your pillow and spend another 30 seconds calling them names. ( i.e. Childish, I know.)

Next, send an email/sms/e-card back, Thank them for keeping you in their thoughts, and leave them the most humble message you can conjure.

This would irritate your enemies, I am sure.

It works. And its successful remedy for the Quick tempered.

Politics Part 2

Well, well well….

Now that I have time….

What was the point of CHANGE? And what about my statement, that the first politicians were probably inexperienced in ruling despite maybe having theoretical knowledge…..

I once had to read on Socrates and Plato and decide who was the better philosopher of Politics. I didn’t see how it would influence me, since I didn’t think asian countries were influenced by either of them.5-6 years later, I still think they don’t influence asian countries that much. But oh well, if there was anything I learnt from that writing experience, it is that we could sit and discuss the Greeks or we can actually find real solutions to a growing problem.

The fact that some people,( no…statistics here, maybe I would look it up at some point.) would rather not vote shows that they don’t care about POLITICS,itself.

Talk to me like I’m a fifth grader!

That was the whole point of CHANGE. Do you expect a fifth grader to understand what a Greek had to say on Politics? I don’t think so. And that was the message of CHANGE. Not that there was actual mentions of these Greeks in the show.

I don’t think people are disinterested in Politics, it is simply because they don’t understand it and in the process they lose interest in it. Hunger is the biggest issue in this world. I think even in the most developed country, despite its metropolitan outlook, there would be people begging. Imagine the least developed country then….. People are not going to care how you PLAN to solve it, and would rather be interested in whether they actually have FOOD to survive. So despite having lavish plans to solve a problem, a politician might not be able to gain interest in his plans. The end results seems to be more vital then the actual process of getting to the end.

And the unwanted and often unnecessary attention surrounding Politicians during the elections, serves not only as a distraction but a major spoiler for the momentum that has been set in place. Resulting in repulsion sometimes among the general public. Take a look at America for example. When republican John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his potential VP, it seemed to me, the spot light on real issues were turned away. It became a race on who makes a better celebrity to me! Who is better looking, who has faced more controversy, who has had drugs, who has had a drinking problem.

What happened to the PLANS you had to promote? For awhile there, I thought we were going to see cat fights and verbal wars on a person’s character. But I think that’s not to happen anytime soon.*Fingers Crossed*

But I understand now why someone wouldn’t vote. Or would lose interest in Politics.

When I say you have to talk politics like you’re talking to a fifth grader, I literally mean you talk as simplistic as possible for me to understand. As a tax paying citizen, I feel I have the right to question things I don’t understand. I am not trying to irate the Government or feel the Government is trash, but its more of, I want to know why certain things have to be in a certain way. People who do elect believe in you, which is why they vote for a Politician in the first place, but when confuscions on why we pay more taxes for example arises, automatically we’re seen as dissing the Government.

The show CHANGE was revolutionary, in the sense that it is one of the few asian Political themed dramas out there. I am not an expert with Politics, I have no clue how to rule or run a government and I am not looking to take someone’s place. But I feel it is my moral duty to take elections seriously as possible. For it could affect my  future.

I think what is important is for a Politician to be serious about his moral social duty. I don’t think a person with XYZ no. of degrees would actually know how to rule. Sometimes, experience outweighs the no. of degrees and could be seen as a driving factor to a successful career in Politics. In other occassions, maybe a fresh inexperienced Politician could be rather successful due to his/her “new” ideas. Its the same to any Job really.

Its when a Politician walks the walk and talks the talk that he’s respected. As long as he/she remembers why he/she was voted in the first place, the ideas they’re willing to bring forth to the table, I believe it would be a successful career. For those who do vote, these Politicians owe them a whole load of gratitude. Just like a celebrity, in this respect.

Okay, I might go off track, the more I type. So I shall stop here. I am amateur with Politics, have no interest what so ever in it, and I am one of those people who is very influenced by the news and gossips surrounding Politicians. But I do think I would take the Elections more seriously since there are people who want to make a difference in our lives. And maybe I might just read up on Socrates and Plato afterall.

To Share pt 1

Question: Amma, these days we are self indulgent with ‘I’ Pod, ‘I’ Phone, etc. How do we change from this egoistic ‘I’ Phone to ‘We’ Phone?

Amma’s Answer: Share your I-Phone with everyone and you pay the bill!

Even if the world is saying ‘I’, we can try to create a change. Even if we cannot remove an ocean, we can try to remove a drop of water from it and that much water will be reduced from the ocean. May divine Grace bless us all.
